Review the video that was recently shown on ESPN.

Considering the fact that many kids in Public Schools are excessively overweight has resulted in a "spike" in the reported cases of diabetes.

Several middle and high schools kids have joined wrestling teams to help get their weight under control.  The intense physical demands of wrestling makes it a natural activity to begin a healthy regimen through participation in a the Beat the Streets program.

Making weight can be turned from a negative that has plagued the sport for years, to a positive, as many new coaches are well trained in nutrition & physiology.

The Beat the Streets USA Wrestling national effort will make a concerted effort to address this problem by working closely with each Health Commissioner of the Public Schools whereby,  we recruit and encourage these kids to join the Beat the Streets  wrestling program in their city's public schools.

There are many camps during the summer designed for kids with diabetes.  We can also work closely with these camps by offering wrestling as one of the activities.

There are many grants available to help underwrite a program for children with diabetes.

One camp is: http://www.diabetes.org/diabetes-camp/diabetes-camp.jsp
