John Thoma, (Back) Chris & Jim Lee
The synergy created by these two cities overlaps the Hampton Roads community that should provide a great opportunity for inter-city developmental programs and competitions.
Richmond will be joining New York City, Philadelphia, Columbus, St. Louis, Chicago, Detroit and Milwaukee under the umbrella of Beat the Streets Wrestling USA Wrestling.
The mission of the Beat the Streets Wrestling is to expand wrestling in the largest urban centers of America that is home to millions of boys and girls that have no access to wrestling.
The Beat the Streets program is a wonderful opportunity that awaits the wrestling community….more kids, more recognition, more medals and above all…helping to control the upward spike of obesity, juvenile crime and school dropouts that is prevalent in all large urban centers.
Wrestling is a good investment for this nation and a great activity for kids who can be taught amazing life skills inside a 28’ circle.
The expansion provides to wrestling what it needs most in meeting the challenges of sports in the twenty-first century. More kids wrestling.
